My visual journey started as many people’s does, as a wide eyed youngster gripping waxy crayons and scrunched up bits of paper. My parents wanted to keep me and my brothers away from the “chewing gum for the mind” which was television, hence a household that fostered an imaginative approach to entertainment with no goggle box in the corner. I do feel these beginnings stood me in good stead for my later education and career.
I am currently a self employed freelancer and have experience of working independently and in an agency environment as part of a small team. For the past three years that agency has been RMI (Retail Marketing International) amongst other things they run the media centre for The co-operative and Spar so have been doing a lot of POS, web banners and microsites for all the major FMCG brands. As a small design department we get to do a bit of everything which has been great for building up a rounded skill set.
